Ankylosing Spondylitis & Exercise – Rheumatologist Discussion | THIS AS LIFE

Exercise is an important part of living with ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Benefits can be seen with 30 minutes of exercise per day and back exercises at least five days per week. You should work with your rheumatologist to determine the right exercise regimen for you.

In this episode of This AS Life Live!, Dan Reynolds meets rheumatologist Lianne Gensler and her husband, Scot, an entrepreneur living with AS. The couple talks with Dan about the importance of physical health and finding an exercise plan that’s right for you. Dr. Gensler and Scot also show Dan some stretches that may help with AS symptoms.

Dan and the Genslers also discuss ways to recognize AS and the importance of seeing a rheumatologist. Click here to watch them review AS signs and symptoms and how leaning into the disease to learn as much as possible can help. Watch for more episodes of This AS Life Live! season 2.
